Annual imports of most pre-converted packaging materials continued to grow across the year-ended June 2019. Total volumes were recorded at 122,543 tonnes for the year, up 7.5% compared to the prior twelve months. Imports were again at record levels.

Smaller sized Sacks and Bags < 40cm grade grew strongly, to total 36,028 tonnes, accounting for 29.4% of all pre-converted packaging imports.

Imports of Folding Cartons were up 9.6% to total 38,984 tonnes, or 31.8% of all imports.

The highest volume imports remain Corrugated Cartons, which were up 1.5% to total 41,686 tonnes for the year.
