Sustainable paper industry continues performance: latest report
Australia’s pulp and paper industry continued its sustainability performance over the last year, a new report demonstrates. The 2018 National Pulp & Paper Industry Sustainability Report provides summary analysis of major sustainability measures, and is consistent with similar reports from other countries.
From reductions in energy use sufficient to power more than 122,000 homes, to a world class 69.6% recycling rate and import replacements valued at more than $A4.5 billion, the industry’s contribution is constantly under-stated, despite its significance.

In particular, the report shows that Australia’s performance on recovery and recycling is among the world’s best – and far better than most – despite the challenges of collecting material across a huge continent with a small population.
